Our research team is seeking night shift workers without sleeping problems to help test a mobile app intervention aimed at improving symptoms of shift work disorder. Shift work disorder (SWD) is a sleep disorder that commonly affects people working non-traditional schedules, like night shifts or rotating shifts. It can cause trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating, excessive sleepiness, and lack of energy. Left untreated, SWD can increase the risk of work-related accidents, mental health concerns, and potential health problems. The purpose of this research study is to test a mobile app light exposure intervention to improve symptoms of SWD. If you decide to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete two overnight stays at Henry Ford Medical Center in Novi, Michigan, and use a mobile app for two weeks.
