About Our Research Study
Gonorrhea is a common STD that can cause infection in the genitals, rectum, and throat. It is spread by having sex (oral, vaginal, or anal) with someone who has the disease.
Researchers at UNC Chapel Hill have been working for over two decades to create prevention measures against gonorrhea. The goal of this study is to determine whether an FDA-approved meningitis B vaccine, BexseroTM, can help protect against the bacteria that causes gonorrhea.
