Study Background
Research suggests that a cause of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) may be an abnormal build-up of a protein in the brain called amyloid beta. We are conducting the ENVISION study to confirm if a study drug designed to reduce this build-up can help people with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) due to AD or mild AD dementia.

- Are aged 60 to 85
- Have been diagnosed with either mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to AD or mild AD dementia
- Have positive amyloid status

The purpose of this study is to discover the clinical benefit of aducanumab, a drug that targets amyloid plaque in 60-85 year old Alzheimer's patients.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:
- 60-85 years old
- Suspected or diagnosed Alzheimer's disease or mild cognitive impairment
- Have an informant/study partner who can accompany you to certain visits and remain available throughout the study
- No psychiatric conditions
- No uncontrolled medical condition that may be influencing cognition
- Eligible for MRI & PET scans
- No history of bleeding or blood clotting disorders & no use of anti-coagulants or blood thinners
- No active cancer
- No history of autoimmune disorders
- No current alcohol or substance use disorder
If you decide to join and are eligible, the ENVISION study will last for up to
approximately 130 weeks (2 and a half years), including an 8-week screening
period (to determine your eligibility), 104-week (2-year) treatment period, and
an 18-week follow-up period.
During the treatment period, all participants will receive either the study drug or a placebo (a substance that looks the same as the study drug but contains no active ingredients). If you decide to join the ENVISION study, you will need to visit a study clinic approximately 40 times so that we can monitor your general health and condition with health assessments such as blood tests, brain MRI scans, neurological examinations, urine tests, and vital signs. You will also have up to eight follow-up phone calls.

You will be compensated up to $3,569 for your participation.
