Study Background
Many veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) also struggle with drinking more alcohol than they would like.

This research project aims to find new and better treatments for veterans struggling with alcohol use and PTSD. For this study, participants will receive a medication called oxytocin, sometimes called the "love hormone," as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy for PTSD and alcohol use. Oxytocin is believed to help reduce the effects of stress and trauma and may improve the outcomes of talk therapy.

Study Background
