The primary purpose of the study is to examine the effects of electronic cigarettes on quitting smoking and respiratory health in people with asthma.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you smoke and have asthma.
The screening visit will take 1-2 hours. If eligible, participation in this study involves the following:
Study visit 1 (2-3 hours):
Study visit 1 (2-3 hours):
- Questions about demographics, mental health, tobacco, and drug use
- Breath alcohol, urine sample, drug screen, carbon monoxide measures
- Blood, breath samples from spirometry (PFT) & nitric oxide (FeNO)
- Breath alcohol
- Questionnaires on health & tobacco/nicotine use
- E-cigarette pods exchanged (treatment group only)
- Breath alcohol, urine, blood, breath samples through PFT & FeNO
- Surveys asking about health and tobacco/nicotine use
- Breath alcohol, breath samples through PFT & FeNO
- Surveys asking about health and tobacco/nicotine use
Eligible participants will be compensated up to $300.
