A new anti-cocaine medication is being tested to help patients struggling with addiction relapse. This medication would be the first-ever medication that treats cocaine addiction by moderating activity in the stress response system.
This study involves taking an investigational drug to learn more about its safety and whether it helps people quit using cocaine. By qualifying, you can be one of the first to access this medication and have all costs related to the medication and trial be covered for you by researchers.

This study aims to help fight cocaine addiction through a new medication. Researchers are investigating whether targeting neurological pathways will help individuals quit using cocaine.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

- 18 to 65 years of age
- Ongoing cocaine use disorder
- Seeking treatment for cocaine use disorder
- Female subjects must be of non-childbearing potential
- Male subjects must agree to use accepted contraceptive regimens during the study
- No significant current medical conditions
- No known hypersensitivity to or intolerance of oxazepam, metyrapone, or any benzodiazepine, or severe hypersensitivity reaction (e.g., angioedema) to any drug
- Ongoing court-mandated treatment requirement for a substance-use disorder
- No other substance use disorder, other than cocaine, tobacco or caffein
Your participation in the study will last for 22 weeks, or about 5 months. You will only be taking the study medication for 12 of these weeks. You will have about 30 study visits at our study site, including a screening visit to see if you qualify. You must be able to attend these visits in order to participate.
Your safety will be closely monitored throughout the study by a study nurse and physician. One important part of this monitoring involves regular blood draws during your visits to our center. You must be comfortable with needles and willing to provide blood samples throughout this study. We will also monitor your drug use during the study to determine whether this is affected by your treatment.

You will be compensated for your time and travel to the site throughout your study involvement.
