About this research study:
Partner with researchers as they learn more about prevention of unwanted weight gain while in the process of quitting smoking.
The connection between quitting smoking and obesity is known to be one of the reasons for the urge to return to cigarettes when smokers see that they are gaining weight. Weight gain when quitting smoking is not due to some physiological factor, but rather as a result of overeating as an attempt to get rid of the anxiety caused by the withdrawal syndrome.

This study involves taking an FDA-approved medication for chronic weight management to learn if it helps people quit smoking without gaining weight.
