Study Background
Bipolar disorder affects about 2% of the world’s population, with subthreshold forms affecting another 2%. Despite advances in the treatment of Bipolar Disorder, a lot of patients relapse into depression or mania within 1 - 2 years.
Our researchers want to find better treatments for individuals with bipolar disorder.
Our study will provide insights on treatment strategies to prevent mood episodes and identify biomarkers able to monitor antidepressant response in Bipolar Disorder.

You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
Inclusion Criteria:
- Between 18-65 years old
- Suffer from Bipolar Disorder
- Currently on mood-stabilizer treatment
- Able to undergo an MRI
- No substance abuse besides alcohol and nicotine
- No neurological disorders
Screening can be split into 2 visits if needed, eligibility will be determined within 2-3 weeks of screening.
The treatment trial lasts eight weeks.
